Point Park is one of the prettiest spots on Lookout Mountain, and it is one of the easiest scenic spots to get to. Point Park is a scenic park with lots of wide open grassy spaces. It is also located at the point of Lookout Mountain, so you can quickly walk from an eastern brow view to a western brow view. It only costs a few dollars to get in, and it is worth the money to see such a spectacular view.
Across the street from the park is a gift shop that holds a 3 demensional model of Chattanooga, Lookout Mountain, and Missionary Ridge. That model is an interactive map that shows how the Confederate army lost to the Union army in Chattanooga during the civil war. It costs $8 per adult, which feels a little steep, but it is good civil war information.
Attached to Point Park are a series of trails for hiking along the top of the mountain as far back as Covenmant College. You can also hike down the mountain if you’d like. I grew up playing in Point Park, and it is a fun place to visit when you are in town.
